Those of you doing Dante based digital audio systems, what network switches have you found work best

Those of you doing Dante based digital audio systems, what network switches have you found work best? I have a friend that called me a couple days ago and said the new system that was installed a few weeks ago at his church has a random popping sound like a static pop. I asked him what network switch he was using and when he told me, I about fell out of my seat. It was a off brand gigabit switch that they paid around $40 for. I said dude you just put in over a $100k worth of digital audio equipment and put it through a $40 switch, that's your problem. He replaced the switch with some higher up model of Netgear switch that cost about $400 and he hasn't had any pops sense.
